BASKETBALL SKILLZ DEVELOPMENT

Coach Champ played Division I basketball at Charleston Southern University. She faced adversity during her freshman and junior year when she sustained season-ending injuries with a torn ACL. She took the experiences of studying & understanding the game while sitting on the sidelines during that time which later inspired her to become an educator and high school basketball coach.

Cesurian spent 15 years coaching high school basketball [12 years as a girls’ basketball coach and 3 years with the boys]. During that time, she has learned so much as a coach, which inspired her to start her own training services with NuMentality Skillz Academy. In 2017, Cesurian was presented a Proclamation House Resolution and recognized by South Carolina’s House of Representatives as one of the first women to coach a boy’s high school varsity basketball team in the state. “I realized that there are so many kids that desire to play basketball on the next level but lacked the skill development and knowledge to prepare them to play on the next level. My desire is to educate not only my clients but their parents on the process it takes to get to the next level,” says Coach Champ.

In 2019, Cesurian expanded NuMentality Skillz Academy and started working with two girls Varsity basketball programs in Charleston SC (North Charleston High School and Military Magnet Academy). Teaching game strategies as well as working on positional skill development was key. This year was very monumental for the NuMentality brand since both schools advanced to the South Carolina High School League State Championship Finals. North Charleston High School, a team comprised of only 9 players went on to defeat the defending state champions, Christ Church Episcopal to secure the 2019-20 SCHSL Class AA State title. Military Magnet Academy advanced to the SCHSL Class A state championship game for the first time in school history. Unfortunately, they lost to High Point Academy by 10 but became the SCHSL Class A State Runner-Ups. NuMentality Skillz Academy has been training this program (MMA) for the last 4 years. The following season Military Magnet Academy went on to win 3 state titles in a row.

Cesurian joined forces with her wife/Co-Owner, Dr. Jennifer Heyward-Champagne to provide quality services for student-athletes and provide the necessary exposure to help create an avenue to extend their playing careers.

In September 2022, Cesurian partnered with retired NBA star, Jumaine Jones (Beyond the Hardwood Inc) and hosted the “Labor Day Skillz Camp” in Charleston SC. This was her first camp which provided kids ages 7-18 an opportunity to train with an NBA player as well as learn about the importance of mental health awareness, being a leader, understanding the importance of planning ahead, as well as gain insight on Jumaine’s experience of playing with Lebron James, Allen Iverson, and the late Kobe Bryant. In July 2023, NuMentality Skillz Academy and Beyond the Hardwood Inc joined forces once again to host our 2nd basketball camp in Charleston, SC.

In 2024, Cesurian has revamped NuMentality Skillz Academy to EnduraSkillz Elite Basketball, and she is also the owner of EnduraSkillz Sports Magazines (formerly STS Sports & Media).

A year ago, Coach Champ established a section in the magazine called the Prep Zone. “I wanted to create a platform in which student-athletes in every sport can promote their skills and talent nationwide. EnduraSkillz Sports Magazines is an online, digital magazine that has gained the attention of college scouts and professional athletes from multiple sports. With a viewership of 22.1 million views, student-athletes across the globe are now able to gain the attention of college and professional scouts.
